For the first 20 years of my life, my diet consisted of chicken fingers and french fries (dipped in massive amounts of ketchup) and well, nearly every junk food under the sun.
Four years ago, in 2011, I gave all of that up and decided to finally give real food a try. I started a blog to document my journey, and in doing so, developed a passion for healthy living and yoga. It’s amazing to me how I could have lived all those years feeling ‘healthy’ only to discover that I was nowhere near peak health. By tweaking my diet and lifestyle, I noticed my allergies fade away and my emotional well-being enhanced. I felt lighter, and more clear-headed. Consequently, my relationship with myself, my loved ones, and the world around me greatly improved.
Though my path has been one of trial-and-error, one things remains the same: I feel my best on a gluten-free, whole foods plant based diet.
I practice yoga regularly and make my own (100% natural!) skincare products. I try to avoid harmful chemicals and plastics, and make sure to get plenty of fresh air every day. Other things that I practice: regular cleansing, vitamin/herbal supplementation, meditation, personal improvement, treating myself to chocolate-covered banana chips.
Note: If you think that stuff above sounds too crazy for you, keep in mind that I had never even tried lettuce until age 20. Lifestyle changes are possible, believe that.
